Last Day of Detox Do Over!

Last day of detox and these 5 days have truly been a cinch!  I was back down to my previous post-detox weight this morning and slipped into my six-month-old-but-never-worn “skinny” jeans  – woohoo!!  I also took about 20 minutes last night to pick out my recipes for the weekend and also next week and go ahead and log them in my menu so there’s no thinking (i.e. temptation) involved in meal planning:

Saturday & Sunday
Meal Plan Time
Fruity waffle sundaes (shape mag) 8am
Cranberry & cheese popcorn (107) 12pm
Shrimp & wild rice stuff peppers (125) 4pm
Spicy avocado tostadas (119) 8pm
1 Dove dark-chocolate

*****

My weight-loss goals going forward are pretty modest at 1-pound per week, given the fact that I’ve only got about 10-15 pounds to go and those “fat pounds” (contrary to water/waste weight pounds) are the hardest to lose.  Here’s this week’s weigh-in.  Where is everybody else at these days?

Starting Weight:   144 pounds  (December 28, 2010)

Current Weight:   135 pounds  (January 21, 2011)

Total Loss:   9 pounds (mostly detox)

Next Week’s Goal:   134 pounds (January 28, 2011)

  1. Hi Rebecca,
Way to go!!! I get on the scale again tomorrow morning and I’m not sure what it’s going to say this week. I don’t like weighing every day because I tend to obsess about it. I had two events this week that might have made a difference, but I tried HARD not to blow it at both of them. We’ll see. On to planning week 2 meals!

  2. Congrats Rebecca! I’m one full week into phase 2 and the scale has not budged. Disappointing since I have stuck to the plan to the letter. I feel better though. Less sluggish. I feel less bloated. I know from past weight loss efforts that my body usually works on a 2 week cycle……I’ll lose nothing or very little one week and then the next week there is a noticeable change in the scale. I’m hoping that’s how it will be this time. I’m joining a gym and will begin exercising next week. I believe the weight loss will come and in the meantime, i feel better and know that I am eating in a much more healthful way.

  3. Love your posts. Currently on day 3. My big question is do you think this diet can temp. sustain an active workout schedule. Run 4 miles yesterday and a high impact cardio class. Noticed that u r a runner, what kind of mileage do you run? I was super shaky yesterday after, it was a terrible feeling but I’m not a quitter.

    • Hi Kat. I typicaly run 4-5 miles a few days a week, plus cycling and other stuff on the others days, but have cut back during detox. Per the book, a lot of excercise is not recommended during detox, but you can add an egg or serving of yogurt with your breakfast and lunch if you need the extra calories. It’s also important to note that the diet is based on a low-level of exercise, so for people like you and me that have frequent strenuous workouts, we can add a little bit of protein and fruit as needed in the first 2 meals of the day. Make sense?

  4. Awesome! This is my last day as well, but tonight I have to go to a fundraiser dinner so I might not be able to stick to it. I’ll try to eat something sensible, but its kinda a bummer to have followed it all week and have my LAST detox meal not count. Well, I AM down 6.2 this morning so that’s good! I thought I wouldn’t be because I totally overdid it on almond butter last night (that stuff is SO good).

  5. Hi Rebecca,

Great Job!! I’m on day 4 and I’ve had a 4 lb loss so far. I’m Feeling good and I know that I’m on the right track. Your blogs are great and continue to inspire me.

Thanks for sharing your journey with us!

  6. Rebecca,
Congrats on finishing the fast forward. You had great results. I am on day 3. I know it is not recommended to exercise during the cleanse, but I am an avid exerciser and can’t imagine not working out. I do notice that I have been a little sluggish between meals but I am determined to finish the 5 days. I am very much looking forward to the core program and planning my meals. I agree planning is key to success on this program. Thanks for sharing. I am enjoying your blog.

  7. Lisa,
I am on day 12 an Cinch and the scal is not moving as fast as the ff maybe becouse I am not excercising that much. I have lost 9.5 so far and i love the way i fell. I will try to add little more walking and see if that helps. I love what everyone has to say. It really helps out alot.

    • Hi. The weight loss will definitely slow down after detox becuase now you’re losing fat, not water / waste. Depending on how much you have to lose, you should expect no more than 1-2 pounds per week. Detox basically just flushes you out and gives you a clean slate to work with! My goal is 1 pound per week going forward.

  8. I am at 154lbs thanks to the ff, but i still have 24lbs to go. after the secand baby, the waight is not caming of as easly as it did the with the first one. This is the only diet plan that seem to work for me so far. I think i will do the detox after month that should help me out. As always, thanks for sharing your prograss.

  9. I love your blog. I picked the book up a few weeks ago and have been reading it little by little (don’t have a lot of time to read during the day since I have a 6 month old, and am really tired by night. So I read a little each night), and I can not wait to start. Finding your blog has really helped as well…its nice to know there are so many out there that are doing this eating plan also. It makes it easier to read how your (and others) progress has been and how you have felt and so forth. I don’t plan to start my plan until after the 1st weekend of Feb, since I will be going out of town that 1st weekend and thought it would be to hard to stay on track while out of town. Good luck with your phase 2 again!

  10. I’m on day 3 now and in looking closer at my yogurt I realize that it’s LOWfat and not NONfat! It’s also 140 calories per serving so I think I’m going to stop with the yogurt for now and maybe just add a cup of strawberries??? I don’t know if it’s worth it to go buy a big thing of nonfat yogurt for two days!

  11. I would keep going with the LowFat, but maybe reduce the serving by 1/3 to get it closer to the 110-calories of NonFat. The yogurt is crucial to the detox phase because of the probiotics. Hope that helps!
